Overview
Home Hardware operates in a highly competitive retail space where promotional clarity and visual impact directly influence customer decisions. The goal was to design marketing materials that not only aligned with the brand, but also made it easy for customers to quickly understand pricing, savings, and product value.
The Challenge
Retail flyers and catalogues often carry a large volume of information — multiple products, pricing tiers, and promotional messaging all competing for attention. The challenge was to organize this information in a way that felt clear, engaging, and easy to navigate, while still maintaining strong visual appeal.
Approach
I focused on building a clear visual hierarchy that guides the viewer naturally through each piece. This meant prioritizing key elements such as pricing, savings callouts, and product imagery, while ensuring supporting information didn’t overwhelm the layout.
Typography and color were used strategically to create contrast and emphasis, helping important details stand out at a glance. At the same time, I worked within Home Hardware’s brand system to ensure consistency across all deliverables.

Execution
The work spanned a range of deliverables, including high-impact promotional flyers and more structured catalogue layouts such as Kitchen and Bath. Each format required a tailored approach and flyers were designed to capture attention instantly, while catalogues focused on creating a more balanced and immersive viewing experience.
Alongside layout design, careful attention was given to accuracy and detail. Product information, pricing, and promotional messaging had to be clearly communicated while meeting tight production timelines.
Studio & Image Creation
In addition to design work, I was involved in the creation of lifestyle imagery used across the flyers and catalogues. Working within a studio environment, I collaborated with internal teams to plan, stage, and capture visuals that aligned with both the product and overall campaign direction.
Being part of both the image creation and layout process allowed for a more cohesive final result, where visuals and design worked together seamlessly to support the overall message.
Outcome
The final materials supported large-scale promotional campaigns and seasonal releases, improving the clarity and overall presentation of marketing content. The designs made it easier for customers to quickly scan information while maintaining a polished and cohesive look across all touchpoints.
Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of designing with both clarity and efficiency in mind. In a retail setting, strong design is not just about aesthetics. It plays a critical role in how effectively information is communicated and how quickly customers can make decisions.
